DescriptionOur government client is seeking a Legal Clerk. Duties Attention to detail and precision in transcribing text is essential. Candidate must be able to print clear, precise manage to ensure correct labeling of files. Ability to organize tasks and meet deadlines is requires. Position reports to the Manager, Information Management. Work perfoirmed will be supervised and subject to review by a lawyer in Legal Servioces and/or the Manager, Information Services. Project Description:This project involved reviewing the contents of boxes containing Legal Services documents located in the basement storage room and in the Records Centre. Identify and sort the contents of boxes- transitory (to be disposed of) vs official documents (to be kept) Organize and label materal to be kept according to the new Legal Services File Plan. Qualifications Minimum Mandatory Qualifications:Education: Paralegal Diploma and Certification from a recognized collegeExperience:Minimums of three (3) years of experience in organizing records in a law office or a legal services department Tasks - Deliverables Review contents of all Legal Services boxes in storage and in Records Centre;Identify and create a list of material to be disposed ofIdentify, organize and label material to be kept according to the new Legal Services File PlanExamine contents of boxes in storage and create a detailed list of contentsConsult with lawyer assigned to this project and the Manager, Information Management, to determine retention needIf time permits, assist in organizing Legal File Area according to the File Plan
