Electrical Project Supervisor

Alamos Gold’s Island Gold is one of Canada’s highest grade and lowest cost gold mines. This underground operation is located just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa in Northern Ontario. Through ongoing exploration success, Island Gold’s Mineral Reserves and Resources have continued to grow in size and quality, and Alamos is now investing in a major expansion project which is expected to transform Island into one of the largest and most profitable mines in Canada with an 18-year mine life. This is a very exciting time at Island Gold, and we are searching for highly motivated and committed people to join our team!If you are willing to be part of a team that is dedicated to growth, high performance and a culture of safety and accountability, we would like to hear from you!Primary Responsibilities: Our goal is to have zero safety incidents through strong leadership and culture developmentEvaluate project requirements, determine scope, cost estimates, project plan, budget and method to achieve desired results.Submit AFE request for electrical project funds.Work collaboratively with others to achieve organizational goals - both within own department and cross-departmentally. Submit electrical work cost estimate to be included in their AFE’s.Plan and schedule projects, procure required material and resources.Ensures safety and compliance standards are adhered to on all jobs.Maintain records and documentation relating to the ongoing completion of projects.Provide timely, accurate and well-communicated shift reports and summaries for cross-shift and turnaround needs.Be highly effective in motivation, organization, time management and decision-making.Actively participates in continuous improvement initiatives. Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:Qualifications include: The ideal candidate will have a minimum electrical inter-provincial trade certificate (Red Seal) and Supervisor Common CoreA minimum of 5 or more years’ experience in a mine/plant production environment including operating/maintenance experience in all areas of the mining activities.Will understand and be familiar with Electrical Codes as well as CSA M421-00 codes as pertaining to underground mining electrical installationsAbility to perform in a self-directed, fast paced, team environmentThe incumbent will demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, a strong commitment to working in a safe, socially responsible manner.Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required.Project management training is an asset.SAP experience and computer skills an asset Working Conditions:The schedule for this position is based in a camp operation working on a defined rotation schedule (7 on/ 7 off).Alamos Gold Inc.
