Overview
Element has an opportunity for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager . Reporting to the General Manager, you are an essential member of the management team and responsible for the overall quality systems performance. The successful candidate will have a sound working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and Nadcap requirements in relation to materials testing. Experience in relation to the Aerospace industry and Nadcap for NDT inspection and Materials testing would be desirable.
This position is based out of our Chambly office in Quebec.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance and scope extension of all accreditations (e.g. ISO/IEC 17025 and Nadcap), Prime approvals and any other regulatory requirements
- Maintaining and developing relationships with Aerospace Primes and customers and improving processes
- Implement and maintain the QMS, ensuring the necessary controls are in place to govern the inspection and testing undertaken
- Effectively manage the day to day implementation of the QMS and support colleagues in its implementation
- Embed and drive a culture of quality assurance and quality improvement in all parts of the laboratory operations
- Manage A2LA and Nadcap assessments, visits from and other regulatory bodies as required
- Maintain good working relationships with operational colleagues and with the wider quality community
Skills / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualification) in a scientific or engineering discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in managing quality systems
- Experience in participating in quality investigations, undertaking root cause analysis, developing corrective action plans, and ensuring the effectiveness of actions undertaken
- Experience of working in an ISO / IEC 17025 environment Required
- Nadcap experience highly preferred
- Ability to communicate proficiently in French highly desired
