With this growth in mind, we are looking to add a Painter to the Production Team at our Fort Saskatchewan, AB facility.

The Painter position is suited for an individual who is eager to learn with an exceptional attention to detail and who strives for the highest standards of quality.

Main Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the day-to-day operations of the paint booth
  • Oversee paint preparation processes to ensure quality of surfaces
  • Manage and/or oversee the metal prep process of cleaning and removing of corrosion, grease or other foreign material, to allow for the proper adhesion of the paint
  • Select appropriate paint or mix paints according to a pre-determined formula
  • Custom colour matching, which requires a strong understanding colours and the effects of various paint additives.
  • Cleaning and regular maintenance of painting, compressed air and personal protective equipment
  • Coordinate with other departments to allow for the smooth flow of products through the building process
  • Train staff new to the paint department
  • Commit to creating a clean, safe and efficient work environment
  • Commit to learning other roles within the production facility

Key Competencies/Skills

  • Industrial painting experience is preferred
  • Strong focus and excellent attention to detail
  • An eye for colour; must be able see subtle differences in paint colour to ensure custom matching suits customer expectations
  • Ability to be flexible and accommodate the changing needs in different departments
  • Willingness to look for ways to improve the painting processes as well as the flow of material in and out of department
  • Capable of standing on feet for 8 hours per day and lifting moderate/heavy loads
  • Concerned with the safety of themselves and of team members
  • Actively looking for ways of improving overall work environment not only in the paint department but in the company as a whole.

Additional information :

  • Compensation: $20-25.00, based on experience
  • General Working Hours: 7:00am-3:30pm, Monday - Friday. Overtime as required
  • Full benefits after completing probationary period
  • Breaks: 1/2hr unpaid lunch + two 20 min paid breaks
