HOURS OF WORK :Monday - Friday, Days 7.5 hour shifts

Summary :The Payroll Supervisor will oversee and provide coordination of the daily activities of the Payroll Department, ensuring support, guidance and training to 3 Payroll Administrators. This position will coordinate with HRIS/Payroll Systems Analyst in troubleshooting system issues that affect the efficiency of payroll processes as well as the smooth posting of payroll transactions into the General Ledger. Contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.

Qualifications :

  • Successful completion of a two-year community college diploma, plus a CPA Certificate for Payroll Management (CPM) designation required
  • Membership to the Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) an asset
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience processing payroll of a large size organization (3,000 or more employees), including experience with payroll accounting and the processing and reconciliation of government and other remittances
  • Strong mathematical ability
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and strong knowledge and experience using payroll processing software
  • Using reporting tools such as Crystal Reports and Excel Add-ins.
  • Proven ability to solve problems with diplomacy and tact
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a tightly knit team and individually
  • Strong service orientation and proven customer service skills
  • Proven ability to effectively multi-task and produce accurate work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to prioritize conflicting deadlines
