Responsibilities

The teacher will travel to teach in the students' homes in the Vancouver West Side area. We advocate the RCM curriculum, but do not prescribe a particular method for beginners or force students to do examinations. The teacher is free to teach in response to the individual needs of each student and their goals.

As a contractor, you will be responsible for setting your own schedule. The teacher will be free to build up their schedule in a flexible way that suits their aspirations. Good organization and communication skills are key so that you can arrange classes with the families. We also host two recitals per year. The teacher is encouraged to prepare their students for these performances.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Music
• RCM Level 10 Piano or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 Years Teaching Experience
• Drivers' License and access to your own, reliable vehicle
• Must be legally able to work in Canada
• Fluent English, both spoken and written
• Willingness to obtain a police background check
• Ability to teach a second instrument is an asset

Job Types : Part-time, Fixed term contract Contract length: 7 months Part-time hours: 3-5 per week

Salary : $35.00-$50.00 per hour
