Position Information : Social Worker, HIV/Immunodeficiency Clinic (General Campus).

Position may be located at either the Civic and General Campus.

Rotation/Shifts :

  • Days, 8 hour shifts.- For information purposes only - The Hospital reserves the right to change.

Basic Requirements :

  • Master's in Social Work with a clinical concentration from a university of recognized standing;
  • Member in good standing of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers;
  • Excellent assessment and crisis intervention skills;.
  • Excellent knowledge of community resources;
  • Excellent advocacy skills;
  • Experience working with issues such as dying, grief and loss;
  • Ability to provide individual counseling;
  • Ability to perform research;
  • Sensitivity to sexuality issues;
  • Ability to work with Mental Health/Addictions/and clients with chronic illnesses;
  • Sound knowledge of regulatory standards regarding the provision of health Services;
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a multi-disciplinary/inter-disciplinary setting;
  • Superior written, verbal and presentation skills;
  • Superior interpersonal skills;
  • Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Knowledge of Social Work intervention with HIV/Immunodeficiency patients.
  • Knowledge of immigration and refugee legislation and services
  • experience working with LGBTQ2 population
