AET Group is currently seeking an experienced and technically strong Project Manager, Waste Services to join our team and quickly step into a leadership position. This is a full-time, permanent role. AET Group is a multi-disciplinary environmental consulting, auditing and scientific services company providing professional services to the built and natural environments in the following core service areas: waste, air, compliance, building sciences, building certifications, mitigation, GHG, sustainability, audits, water, management systems, home flood protection and energy. Headquartered in Kitchener Ontario, AET provides waste services across Canada and the United States. AET is looking for a dedicated, skilled, and knowledgeable waste professional to complement our current waste services team. The Project Manager supports the Waste Audit Manager and Manager Waste Analytics and Development in actively participating in various types of work done by AET’s Waste Services team, including providing technical waste auditing and consulting services, project and staff management, and supporting business development opportunities. The successful candidate won't shy away from hard work and is excited for the opportunity to travel, both within the province, and across Canada. The successful candidate must be available to travel for conducting waste studies that may include overnight stays. You will have the opportunity to contribute to our growth, working on diverse waste projects across Canada, including municipal and ICI waste studies and waste reduction strategies, material recovery facility commissioning, optimization and quality studies, litter studies, food waste studies, EPR, Circular Economy, and waste reduction planning. Duties and Responsibilities:Management of waste projects including the planning and execution of waste studies Establishing and maintain long-lasting client relationships with municipal and private clients and prospectsProject coordination, oversight and management of waste team leaders and support staffPlanning and executing work consistent with quality, cost and schedule requirementsData analysis and report writingReview of data and reportsManage and lead waste studies, including sampling, auditing, analysis and reportingEnsure audit teams are undertaking work safely and in accordance with AET’s Health and Safety protocolsAssist with quotation, tender, proposal writing, and project costing.Assist with project staff assignments and staff supportProviding technical guidance to staff including mentorship and leadershipClient relations and business development in waste management across Canada and North AmericaPromotion of company through attendance at trade shows, conferences, and speaking engagementsOther duties as requested from time to time Qualifications:3-5 years of previous experience managing waste-related projects and small teams. (Municipal waste project experience is an asset). Degree or Diploma in Environmental Studies or a related field with previous experience and knowledge in waste/recycling audits.Certified EP with waste specialization is an asset.MS Excel, Word, and Projects knowledge and use is required. Strong data analysis and reporting skills required.Driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract and access to a vehicle is required; being comfortable driving a pickup truck and pulling a cargo trailer is required.Must possess excellent oral, written, organizational and multi-tasking skills.Ability to function in a team environment and make decisions confidently.Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Must be punctual and dependable with a professional demeanor.Possess initiative, adaptability, flexibility, and a willingness to learn.
