Liftsafe Engineering and Service Group Inc., a member of the Liftsafe Group of Companies, specializes in a variety of different areas including inspections, service, engineering and fabrication; we manufacture overhead cranes, jib cranes and custom material handling solutions to our large customer base throughout Ontario. We are looking to grow our project management team.

The Project Manager will oversee all aspects of the projects from mobilization, project schedules, construction documentation, milestones, and client engagement.

The primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Take ownership of assigned projects from start to finish - create schedules, report progress, address risks and ensure high quality of product and install is maintained
  • Collaborate with the engineering, fabrication and field services department to plan field installs of structural steel/material handling projects
  • Ensure all necessary parts and equipment are readily available for field teams to execute installs effectively and efficiently.
  • Arrange for any on-site equipment as needed and arrange for pickup after project completion.
  • Coordinate install schedule and logistics with on-site customer contact.
  • Effectively communicate the scope and expectations of the project to the field crew and maintain communication with field crew to ensure project completion deadlines are met.
  • Provide status updates to engineering and customer as appropriate.
  • Work with key stakeholders to work through any challenges that are presented on site to find a solution that will allow the project to be completed on time without sacrificing quality and/or customer service.
  • Perform site visits as required /requested.
  • Perform regular reviews of cost, quality, safety and productivity metrics, setting plans and executing these effectively to drive optimal performance of Operations team and 3rd party partners through goal setting, observation, coaching and reviews
  • Partner and collaborate with other stakeholders (i.e. Quality, Project Management, Training, HR, Regulatory) to continually improve team performance
  • Drive ‘destination of choice’ for team members, customers and 3rd party partners by setting a standard of service excellence and engaging team members/3rd party partners to support this standard

Qualifications include:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field
  • 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the Material Handing Industry
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with great accuracy under tight deadlines
  • Self-starter with a high degree of integrity, sense of urgency, passion for high performance and attention to detail who thrives working in a team environment and individually
  • Demonstrated results in driving process control, productivity/quality improvement
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal and presentation), interpersonal skills along with innovative thinking and problem solving skills
  • Highly motivated to succeed with the ability to build team spirit, motivate team members and encourage collaboration
  • Professional negotiation skills with the ability to influence and drive change
  • Strong initiative to drive results with speed of implementation
  • Strong ability to develop effective relationships with team, internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and help drive change
  • Experience in a management role within a unionized environment is an asset

Job Types : Full-time, Permanent

Salary : $65,000.00-$95,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

  • Project Management: 2 years (preferred)
  • Installation: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driver's License (G Class) (preferred)
