What are we looking for?

We are looking for a Yard Stock Hand for our new Woodstock , Ontario site that will work in a manner to meet the safety, quality, and efficiency standards for the particular job at hand, as well as working closely with 3rd party trucking companies and the general public. The Yard Stock Hand is responsible for a variety of duties, including taking orders, transferring purchases to the Sales Team, loading, unloading, and moving products and materials to the designated locations in the storage yard, and doing inventory counts. The Yard Stock Hand is also accountable for checking received orders and confirming that all inventory transactions are completed and documented. The Yard Stock Hand will be expected to be experienced with a forklift and will have some data entry-related tasks on the Computer. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities :

  • Load, unload, and move products and materials by hand or equipment.
  • Use a forklift in the movement of materials and the associated processing required in a storage yard to load 3rd party trucks and trailers.
  • Taking inventory and updating inventory counts in the computer system.
  • Reordering inventory when below Minimum levels and maintaining stock on hand.
  • Pick orders and prepare for shipping, including stacking, wrapping, and crating products.
  • Participate in clean-up and maintenance, ensuring Yard is organized, clean, and well-maintained.
  • Put away received materials in proper storage locations.
  • Confirm inventory transactions are complete.
  • Assist in processing the receipt of incoming materials.
  • Work with carriers to assist in the loading of materials for shipment.
  • Ensure raw materials are moved to the appropriate manufacturing cells and finished goods are moved to proper inventory locations.
  • Conduct inventory processes and maintain accurate inventory counts in the Computer System.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 - 5 years relevant experience
  • Basic use of MS Office and ERP systems
  • Experience operating 20-25K lb capacity forklift
  • Forklift operator license
  • Knowledgeable of Inventory control systems for material handling.
  • Capable of understanding key processes in the department
  • Assist with inventory processes
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in material handling methodology.
  • Willing to work overtime as required and committed to doing what is necessary to ensure duties are completed.
  • Strong oral and written English language communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and balance conflicting priorities.
  • Sense of urgency with excellent attention to detail.
  • Other duties as assigned
