Summary

We seek a highly organized, efficient and responsible Project Manager who will lead project/project teams, coordinate project objectives, and integrate project activities across multiple functional lines.

The Project Manager organizes and leads our client, design, capital improvement, and construction projects to their successful conclusion. Skill sets include scope definition and verification, schedule definition and monitoring, budget creation and maintenance, risk analysis and mitigation, change control, quality assurance and project resource leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of projects as required, including but not limited to quoting, planning, budgeting, scheduling, execution, risk management, safety and quality control.
  • Handle multiple projects at the same time throughout the entire lifecycle.
  • Successfully estimate, propose, and manage project scope and budget.
  • Build and maintain client relationships through ongoing communication and understanding of client goals.
  • Manage client expectations and project requirements.
  • Manage resource assignments and utilization while coordinating with department managers to ensure schedules stay on time.
  • Visit client sites in order to determine project needs.
  • Ensure technical reviews are completed as necessary and provide recommendations for design improvements, when required.
  • Communicate effectively with contractors responsible for completing various phases of projects.
  • Participate in meetings and ensure effective communication with all stakeholders.
  • Uphold safe work practices and participate in developing and maintaining our culture of safety.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated use of initiative and pragmatic judgment in problem solving and risk control/assessment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-task, fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Clear, precise and detailed communication skills (speaking, listening, and writing).
  • Demonstrated accuracy and efficiency with Microsoft Office Programs - Word, Excel and Project.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of project management fundamentals, ideally has or is pursuing PMP certification or gold seal.
  • Functional expertise in architectural and/or mechanical discipline(s) or referential knowledge of process engineering.
  • Familiarity with NBC, ABC or OBC building codes.
  • Any other duties as required.

Education/Experience

  • Post-secondary diploma, certificate, or degree.
  • Three to Five (3-5) years of experience in a related field.
  • Experience in a consulting environment.
  • Experience in the food, beverage, and/or pharmaceutical industries is an asset.
  • Experience in the cannabis industry is an asset.
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to travel as dictated by project requirements.
