Quality Assurance Coordinator

Reports To :Manager of Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging Services

Job Summary : Qualifications :

  • Licensed MLA/T or MLT
  • Minimum of 2 years MLT experience or minimum of 5 years for MLA/T preferred
  • Internal Auditing course preferred
  • Quality Assurance Certificate preferred
  • High degree of judgment, excellent communication and accuracy of work
  • Ability to meet deadlines and perform administrative functions
  • Microsoft Office suite proficiency including Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to organize tasks, work independently and adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to function in a mínimally supervised environment with exceptional attention to detail required
  • Ability to public speak and provide training programs

Job Duties : The Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging Services and ensuring that these departments are operating safely, efficiently and within all applicable accrediting requirements. This includes but is not limited to;

  • Interpret and implement quality assurance standards and procedures
  • Evaluate adequacy of quality assurance standards
  • Review the implementation and efficiency of quality and inspection systems
  • Document internal audits and other quality assurance activities
  • Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues
  • Collect and compile statistical quality data
  • Develop, recommend and monitor corrective and preventive actions
  • Identify training needs and organize training interventions to meet quality standards to be implemented by the manager
  • Coordinate and support on-site audits conducted by external providers
  • Evaluate audit findings and implement appropriate corrective actions
  • Monitor risk management activities
  • Assure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with clients and their families, colleagues, physicians, and other health care staff
  • Participates in departmental projects geared towards quality improvement
  • Other duties as outlined in the job description
  • Must adhere to organizational policies and procedures concerning cleaning, hand hygiene and the use of Personal Protective Equipment in support of Infection Control measures and attend training when necessary

Salary : $37.35-$42.89 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift

Supplemental pay types:

  • Retention bonus

  • Sioux Lookout, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience :

  • MLT: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • MLT or MLA/T license (preferred)
