Accounts Payable Clerk

The BA Blacktop Group of Companies is currently looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team at our Surrey Office Location. The Accounts Payable Clerk will perform accounting and administrative duties that ensure accurate processing of financial information. Key Tasks:All tasks require a high level of accuracy to ensure the correct processing of information. Processing of A/P invoices: matching packing slip & invoices, obtaining approvals, data entry, filing, preparation of payments to vendors, issuing payments (cheque runs) and account reconciliations.Responds to accounts payable inquiries.Assist with Reception relief.Other: perform journal entries, provide data for budgeting purposes, ensure correct application of taxes, provide information and assistance to other departments, perform other clerical functions as required. Essential Qualifications: 2+ years' experience in a similar roleHigh level of accuracy to ensure the correct processing of informationIntermediate computer skills (including MS office, Word, Excel & Outlook)Ability to use enterprise-level financial record-keeping software systems, spreadsheets, and email applicationsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to complete a high volume of work within deadlinesExcellent organizational and time management skillsExcellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skillsGood problem-solving skillsExcellent knowledge of basic accounting conceptsStrong attention to detailPost-secondary accounting courses Desirable Qualifications Construction or manufacturing backgroundProficiency in English and in MS OfficeHigh degree of accuracy and attention to detailBSc degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration Location: Surrey, BC Competitive salary and benefits package offered. Salary will be based on experience.
