Dz Driver

Spicers Canada ULC (“Spicers”) is a leading distributor of fine paper, graphic arts, sign and display, and industrial packaging equipment and consumables headquartered in Vaughan, Ontario. It operates from 15 distribution centres strategically located across Canada.

We are currently looking for Full-Time Driver located in Kitchener, Ontario reporting to the Delivery Supervisor ( hours of work: 6:00am - 2:00pm ).

• Assemble delivery invoices in order of route - first to last - routing system;
• Check all stock in staging area to match customer charge sheet;
• Loads truck in correct route sequence;
• Ensure that errors in staging area are corrected before departure;
• Complete log sheet on return by updating computer;
• Before departure performs a safety check of vehicle: airbrakes, fluid levels, and all related safety equipment;
• Accomplish maximum number of deliveries in a safe manner, utilizing defensive driving skills;
• Get customer signature on manifests as proof of delivery;
• Responsible for loading paper boxes onto electric dolly and offloading boxes at customers;
• Collect COD when applicable;
• Obtain authorization to pick up return product from customer;
• Shrink wrap and condense stock;
• Check return goods match quantity and description of return sheet;
• Ensure truck cab and box are clean and tidy;
• Maintain a clean staging area that is free of returned goods;
• Follow and promote health and safety policies and procedures; and
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Completion of a secondary school diploma or equivalent
• Valid DZ class Driver’s License;
• Clean drivers abstract;
• Defensive driving course;
• Strong communication skills (both oral and written);
• Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations;
• Truck driving experience, preferably with air brake;
• License with airbrakes;
• WHMIS and T.G.D. certifications;
• Warehouse experience;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
• Self-directed with the ability to work well with mínimal supervision;
• Punctual, dependable, and reliable;
• Basic knowledge of paper products; and
• Computer literate.
