Shop Foreman

Central Construction Group is currently hiring for a SHOP FOREMAN to work in our 4 bay repair facility in Wetaskiwin. This individual will report to the General Manager and be primarily responsible for managing the shop/field mechanics, ordering of parts and materials, and executing our preventative maintenance program.

Job Type / Category

• Promotion of Central's Health, Safety and Environmental Management Plan and Systems;
• Field and Shop servicing and preventative maintenance of major construction equipment (Dozers, Excavators, Graders, Highway Trucks, Scrapers, etc.) ;
• Supervision of shop and field mechanics including dispatching, ordering of parts, and organization of parts room;
• Field repairs to equipment as required;
• Diagnostics of equipment using electronic tools/devices;
• Coordination with local dealerships and manufacturers including Caterpillar, Hitachi, Komatsu, John Deere, and Kenworth.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of mechanical experience is required. Experience in earthwork construction is an asset.
• Ability to accurately diagnose mechanical issues in the field;
• Ability to lead and manage several staff members;
• Ability to work the longer hours if required. We will coordinate a shift schedule for work/life balance.
• Knowledge of current equipment technology including emission standards, GPS machine control, and ECM's.
• Knowledge of construction equipment, common techniques, materials and standards related to earthwork construction in Alberta;
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License and clean Driver's Abstract; Company Profile
