Role Description
This is a Canada Jobs Summer position for someone between the age of 15 and 30 years of age who is a Canadian Citizen or legally approved to work in Canada and has a Social Insurance Number.
The Assistant Cook will provide assistance with the preparation of food and are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of dishes, workstations, and food storage facilities. The Assistant Cook's duties will include assisting with prepping ingredients for Langley Meals on Wheels client meals, packaging and labelling client meals, following recipes and instructions by the Head Chef. Clean dishes in commercial dishwasher and keep kitchen area, equipment and tools clean and sanitized, following Fraser Health, Food Safe and Worksafe BC regulations. Organize and manage walk in cooler and walk in freezer. Organize and store food donations. The goal of the students experience will provide the general skills to successfully secure a position in a commercial, institutional kitchen or restaurant.

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
