Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced  Shoring and Foundation Operations Manager  to join our team. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Shoring and Foundation Group for the Ontario market, ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Innovation is a key aspect of the  Shoring and Foundation Operations Manager  role. The ideal candidate should be able to develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the department, stay up to date with industry trends and best practices, and identify new opportunities for growth and development. By fostering a culture of innovation, the  Shoring and Foundation Operations Manager  can help drive the department forward and ensure that it remains competitive in a rapidly evolving industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the shoring and foundation department.
  • Ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Direct Superintendents and Foreman on daily job activities.
  • Manage look ahead schedules for manpower and equipment.
  • Co-ordinate with Equipment Maintenance and Engineering groups.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
  • Manage, hire and mentor a team of shoring and foundation professionals.
  • Lead safety culture to ensure Safety remains a Core Value for the group.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

· Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues.

· Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices.

· Conduct regular performance evaluations of team members.

· Work closely with the estimation team to ensure that all projects are accurately estimated, and alternate designs are properly evaluated.

· Ensure that the department is meeting its financial targets.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Shoring and Foundation Operations.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
