Role Responsibilities

Transportation & Distribution :

  • Communicate and coordinate with production, 3PL’s, and supply chain vendors to ensure customers’ orders are transported and distributed in a profitable and customer centric manner.
  • Conducts physical inventories, cycle counts, asset validations and reconciliation procedures to ensure accuracy of inventory.

External Stakeholder Relations :

  • Support vendor relationships to leverage Alberta-Pacific’s customer value proposition and premium brand.
  • Ensure data from vendors is accurate.
  • Support the implementation of contingency plans for unplanned business disruptions to minimize adverse impacts.

Documentation & Processes :

  • Work in systems, processes, workflow, and tools to ensure uninterrupted and cost-effective delivery to customers.
  • Process and ensure documentation requirements are met to ensure a free flow of products in a timely and error free manner.
  • Process shipments based on the shipping terms, insurance terms, etc.
  • Support coordinators by ensuring data is correct and shipments are entered timely.

Negotiating & Contracting :

  • Ensure data is correct to allow for continued optimization of the supply chain (e.g. costs, reliability, etc.) to getting products to customers.

Insights & Reporting :

  • Ensure shipments are processed accurately to allow for accurate and timely compiling of data to support negotiating positions.
  • Ensure shipments are processed to allow for compiling of data and to support the team in meeting the key performance indicators to report on success of Logistics.

Innovation :

  • Collect information and data of innovative approaches to optimize data processing and reporting in the supply chain to support the creation of new solutions and opportunities and reduce costs without sacrificing customer care.
  • Understand vendor systems to leverage opportunities to create efficiencies and improve data flow.
  • Develop and maintain a network of traditional and non-traditional contacts to enhance innovation.

Internal Stakeholder Relations :

  • Engage with internal stakeholders to maintain and grow knowledge sharing between departments to build cohesive internal relations to eliminate redundancies and create efficiencies.
  • Engage with internal and external auditors by providing accurate data what complies with audit requirements
  • Ensure knowledge transfer within the team is timely, provide support to team members.

Role Requirements

  • Business Diploma in Transportation, Logistics, Inventory Management, or Supply Chain Management is an asset.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in transportation, logistics, sales coordination, customer service, or data entry is required.
  • Experience working in a CRM (or transportation) information system or ERP.
  • Experience working with internal and external auditors is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Knowledge and understanding of supply chains: including, but not limited to carriers such as railways, trucking, and shipping.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships (internally and externally).
  • Strong data collection, analysis, and insight skills.
