Job Description Reporting to the Production Planning Manager, the primary role of the Project Manager is to lead, plan and execute on value-added initiatives for the Planning department. The Project Manager will be asked to complete projects that are directly or indirectly in line with improving the efficiency or effectiveness of processes or procedures that impact our planning objectives and KPIs. This role involves close collaboration with 5-6 Production Planners, 2-3 Distribution Planners, their managers as well as key stakeholders in other departments. The Project Manager will also be asked to backup planners who are away, sick, on vacation etc. and may even be asked to directly manage specific planning processes and analysis for certain plants on a regular basis. Responsibilities: 75% Special projects/Continuous improvement Estimate and organize time and recourses required to complete projects and initiatives and determine a ROI; Outline project timelines and lead/manage projects involving multiple stakeholders or departments from start to end; Lead, plan and execute on value-added initiatives through technology and innovation; Suggest and implement new ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processes or procedures that impact our planning objectives and KPIs; 25% Production planning Backup scheduler of production lines and/or product transformation lines postproduction; Schedule/sequence production priorities; Maintain accurate production order delivery dates; Report as finished production output from the previous day; Validate production data input on batches to ensure data accuracy and integrity; Report daily schedule attainment to the Production Planning Manager and Director to track plant performance and discipline; Provide quick responses to production issues and adjust plan accordingly; Respond to customer service or sales inquiries on availability time frames for products not yet scheduled to be produced. During the day, you regularly check your e-mails and take certain actions according to the information communicated. Actions may vary from day to day, and you may be called upon to investigate malfunctions with planning tools, to take note of certain potential optimizations, to support a planner in his or her "day to day" and to respond to any other related requests. Your day ends with plenty of great ideas to start your next working day, and a strong sense of accomplishment. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree supply chain management or any other related field; Experience with manufacturing processes, productivity, and efficiencies; Experience and aptitude using MRP/ERP systems; Strong aptitude with technology and understanding latest trends and tools; Above average organization skills and ability to schedule work efficiently; Willingness to work with and gather feedback from various stakeholders across an organization; High attention to details and commitment in meeting deadlines; Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (macros, pivot tables, v-lookup, cubes, graphs etc.); Strong analytical skillset.
