Assistant Property Manager

Essential job functions:

  • Provides support to the Property Manager in the day-to-day activities.
  • Address the concerns of current and prospective residents in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Manage the operations team, setting and elevating the standard on how the team communicates with residents.
  • Conducts Tours and leases units as required.
  • Train team members, modeling effective sales and service techniques.
  • Leads rent collection efforts, specifically with delinquent residents. This may involve lease termination and legal action if necessary.
  • Assist the Property Manager in managing the property’s budget by making sound fiscal decisions to increase the net operating income of the community.
  • Create and distribute monthly resident newsletter.
  • Coordinate monthly events for residents.
  • Maintain the accuracy of resident ledgers and files.
  • Complete unit Inspections during move-in and move-outs, walking units and the community as needed.
  • Fills the role of acting Property Manager in their absence.
  • Maintains and safeguards all company tools and equipment

Education and Experience:

  • Post-secondary courses in property management or related field required.
  • 3 + years of related Property Management Experience
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills and experience with Yardi is considered an asset.
  • Functional knowledge of various Social Media tools and best practices.
  • Previous experience as a Property Administrator, financial reports and budgets is considered an asset.
