The Junior Financial Analyst /Payroll Coordinatorsupports the philosophy and mission of St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre as well asits established goals, objectives, and policies. This position is a member ofthe Finance Team and responsible for various reconciliations and governmentreporting as well as preparing and processing biweekly. This position will workin accordance with all policies and procedures of the Lifecare Centre. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Including,but not limited to, the following duties: JuniorFinancial Analyst Tasks Prepare bank reconciliations (Operating and Trust Accounts) Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations (Cash, Inventory, Prepaids, Accounts Payable) Prepare journal entries and accruals as required for approval (VISA statements) Complete the monthly Capital / Prepaid entries. Maintain the capital assets continuity schedule. Track and complete all government reporting. Prepare rent analysis for office spaces. Support the preparation of monthly financial statements as required. Support the year-end audit with above mentioned audit working papers, as required. Work with other departments to receive all data required to support daily and monthly journal entries. Complete critical tasks, in the absence of other Finance staff to ensure operational continuity. Support the Finance Manager as required. Contribute to a transparent culture of client and staff safety by adhering to and abiding by patient and staff safety policies and procedures set by SJLTC. PayrollTasks: Preparing the payroll for both St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre including Stedman Community Hospice. Processing biweekly payroll Ensuring the assembly bills for ONA, SEIU, IUOE, WSIB, HOOPP, the Social Club, and the Foundation are paid. Maintaining and organizing the payroll records. Issuing ROEs when necessary. Issuing manual cheques when necessary. Maintaining and auditing manual cheques. Logging the Stedman Community Hospice payroll data. Consult with Finance, Staffing and HR to ensure information flow. Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications Toperform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representativeof the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting CPA Certificate Minimum 2 years experience in Accounting, preferably in a healthcare setting (or equivalent combination of education and experience) Experience using and running reports using general ledger software. Familiarity with computer payroll programs (Quadrant preferred) Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel) for data manipulation and analysis. Strong attention to detail Ability to communicate and display a high level of professionalism in-person, verbally and in written formats. Ability to work independently and as a collaborator with a positive attitude to deliver quality results.
