Chief Administrative Officer

“We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.” Sir Winston Churchill

Churchill’s words perfectly describe this opportunity to make a difference as a Chief Administrative Officer in a mid-sized, not-for-profit organization helping others live more fulfilling, engaged and enriched lives. The organization provides individualized support and residential services, as well as training and development programs for support workers, care givers, and other organizations.

It’s an organization about people and people are the primary focus of this role. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Chief Administrative Officer oversees and directs Human Resources, Quality Assurance, IT, Health and Safety and Communications. The role is responsible for talent management, labour relations, organizational design, change management, succession planning, compensation and benefits administration, internal and external communications, compliance and accreditation.

The CAO will work closely with the CEO and other members of the Executive Leadership team to support the organization’s strategic plan to achieve and sustain the organization’s strategic goals. The position has significant external exposure working in collaboration with regulatory authorities, vendors, local colleges, consultants and other external organizations.

The ideal candidate will be a senior Human Resources professional with experience or specialization in Labour Relations, a CHRL designation, a strong strategic thinker with an operational focus. Adept at building strong internal and external relationships at all levels is key to the success of the position. Experience in the social service or not-for-profit sector and working with Ontario government ministries are strong assets.

If you have 8+ years of senior leadership experience and the desire to be part of an organization focused on service to the community, this role could be of interest to you.
