Nursery Operator (M/F/d)

Nursery Operator, Hamilton, ON : Who You Are : As a Nursery Grower, you are working in one of our Infarm Growing Centres, where we produce plants at scale using our vertical farming techniques. You ensure that the environment enables healthy growth, know every variety in detail and ensure smooth processes. You don't mind working on clearly defined and at times repetitive tasks. Moreover, having high attention to detail and being well organized are among your strongest skills.

Working days for that position are Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays with 10h per shift.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Seed efficiently and precisely according to individual plant requirements
• Follow the germination process and detect deficiencies, diseases and under-performance
• Pick the correct and best-performing seedlings for packing and planting
• Maintain the nursery by cleaning the irrigation system and trays, discarding old or under-performing seedlings
• Follow defined workflows and production schedules to ensure daily volume requirements are met to our high standards of quality
• Ensure that hygienic, safety and health standards are met at all times.

Requirements :

• A passion for plants, sustainability or nutrition
• Strong attention to detail and a good eye and caring for cleanliness
• Valid working visa
• Working knowledge of English required, to a level where written procedures and instructions can be understood
• Prepared to perform manual and repetitive tasks and processes
• Both confident and comfortable working alone as well as part of a team.
