We have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated veterinary assistant to join our dynamic team at All About Cats Veterinary Clinic! We are looking for a hardworking and friendly individual to join our team on a part-time basis. We are a unique vet clinic, where we welcome you into our “cats only”, quiet, fully equipped facility where our feline-loving staff have dedicated their careers to caring for our Feline patients. Responsibilities :

• Provide excellent customer service & care in a friendly professional manner
• Ensure cat friendly animal care while using techniques to reduce stress for our patients
• Provide veterinarians and technicians with patient restraint for a variety of procedures, prescription refills, preparation of laboratory samples, radiographs, and administration of treatments as directed by the veterinarian
• Overseeing care to our boarding patients, including feeding, medicating and kennel maintenance
• Invoicing and processing payments for clients for services rendered, medications and food orders
• Maintain and update client records in our practice management software
• Routine call backs and patient monitoring of progress at home
• Inventory receiving and unpacking orders
• Assist with patient care and/or cleaning, as needed
• Maintaining hospital cleanliness at all times

Job Requirements :

• Be comfortable handling cats

• Have excellent communication and customer service skills

• Have the ability to learn medical terminology

• Be comfortable working under pressure, while keeping calm

• Have a sense of good judgment, enthusiasm and empathy

• Be proactive and take initiatives to work effectively without supervision

• Be able to prioritize your workload

• Must be available to work weekends. :

• Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and feline illnesses + triage is an asset

• Prior experience working as a veterinary assistant or Client Care Representative within the veterinary industry and/or completed a VOA certificate at an accredited college is an asset!

Job Types : Part-time, Casual Part-time hours: 16-24 per week

Salary : $17.00-$19.00 per hour
