Environment Health and Safety Specialist

Six Pints Collective is currently hiring for a Environment, Health & Safety Specialist to join our team based in Creemore, ON . The postion will report to the National Environment, Health & Safety Manager and the primary focus of this role will be to support the development, implementation and management of the Health & Safety Management System at Six Pints locations in Ontario.

The Health & Safety Specialist ensures that the sites operate in compliance with Regulatory, Six Pints and MolsonCoors Brewing Company’s Health & Safety standards. The Health & Safety Specialist will work interactively with all stakeholders to provide a solutions-oriented approach based on knowledge of regulations, business operations and best practices and will play a key role within all of Six Pints.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Provide day-to-day health and safety support to Operations, Distribution, Commercial and all other functions of Six Pints Collective in Ontario
  • Manage and holistically coordinate the incident reporting process, including reporting, data entry, investigation, follow-up, corrective-actions, and return to work
  • Manages the environmental processes, including compliance
  • Coordinate the purchasing and allocation of protective equipment as needed
  • Manage the medical qualification and surveillance process
  • Conduct workplace inspections
  • Participate in the development, updating and maintaining various aspects of the IRS and H&S management system, including procedures, protocols, policies, work orders, etc.
  • Maintain active engagements and relationships with management and employees, providing coaching, training, and accompaniment in EH&S matters
  • Provide onboarding training to new hires and awareness/refresher training to current employees
  • Manage the contractor management programme for the province of Ontario
  • Support the EHS team in conducting risk assessments
  • Ensure overall compliance with governmental and corporate EH&S requirements and remain aware of regulatory changes as they occur
  • Data entry and analysis monthly
  • Participate in and lead behavioural safety initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • College diploma or undergraduate degree in occupational health, law, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience of EHS experience in a manufacturing, food production environment (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health Act.
  • Working knowledge of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act.
  • English-language required, written, and spoken.
  • Health & Safety Committee Certification / Training.
  • Experience with Incident Investigation and Risk Assessment.
  • Proven ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and superior organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills coupled with the drive to improve our day-to-day operations.
  • Must be professional, energetic and very dependable.
  • Must possess exceptional intrapersonal and relational skills.

ASSETS :

  • 4 or more years of experience in a manufacturing or food production environment.
  • Membership with the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (CRSP).
  • Bilingual in English and French.
  • Significant achievements in health and safety in an industrial environment in the past.

Salary : $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
