Growth and accelerated demand for our services in the Canadian market is why we are seeking an Executive Vice President to join our Environmental Division.

Job Description : The EVP is responsible for growing the business and managing staff for Canada and working with their peers to ensure our multi-discipline office approach is followed with efficiency and precision. The EVP will provide leadership in a manner that inspires and encourages goal achievement through empowerment and creativity among the team.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Managing Director to develop sales/business development and growth strategies for service area and manage their execution and success.
  • Develop new business development opportunities and expand existing client relationships, while ensuring account management and service delivery optimization.
  • Partner with senior staff and leaders across all service areas to drive cross selling and grow business development opportunities.
  • Participate in national marketing/branding activities through speaking opportunities at industry related conferences
  • Ensure national revenue, profitability, and office utilization goals are met or exceeded.
  • Provide coaching and senior leadership oversight to ensure the team produces high quality project deliverables that meet or exceed client expectations and so individuals learn and grow in their careers.
  • Partner with National Technical Leads and VP to ensure the appropriate staffing levels, utilization, and quality of deliverables are maintained to meet growth goals.
  • Oversee the hiring, career development, performance reviews, and corrective actions for team as needed for all Environmental Group staff within the region, either directly or through an appropriate reporting structure.
  • Review and maintain accurate client contracts and employment agreements for work within the Service Area.
  • Ensure compliance of operations with all local, state and Federal (and International, if applicable) regulations, as well as compliance with Company Policy
  • Make employee safety a priority both in-house and on-site, in accordance with corporate policy

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related environmental field required, Master’s Degree a plus.
  • P.Geo or P.Eng licensure in Ontario required (additional provinces a plus).
  • Qualified Person (QP) licensure in Ontario required (additional provinces a plus).
  • Minimum of 15 years’ work experience, including work in a professional services company (mix of small and large company experience preferred).
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in more than one of the following environmental consulting services: environmental due diligence, subsurface investigation and remediation, property condition assessment, industrial health, and/or building sciences.
  • Strong business acumen, with ability to execute strategic programs and meet departmental financial and utilization goals.
  • Excellent client management and business development skills.
  • Demonstrated prior experience managing, coaching, and growing teams in a professional services setting -including peer review of reports and deliverables
  • Proactive with ability to influence others through persuasion, negotiation, and consensus building
  • Excellent interpersonal, conflict management and communication skills (written and verbal) in English (Spanish fluency preferred)
  • Travel as required to support teams, clients, and the business.
  • Ability to walk job sites during inspections, sometimes on uneven terrain as needed.
