JOB OVERVIEW

Facilities Maintenance is responsible for keeping the manufacturing area clean and safe. Facilities Maintenance will assist in all shop requirements such as Facility cleanliness, preventative maintenance and assisting on various shop projects. This position will be evolving as we are expanding our team, and looking to add someone to our team who is eager to learn, detail-orientated and a team player. It is crucial that Facilities Maintenance promote a positive company image through safety, quality, consistency, and professionalism.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for general facility maintenance, preventive maintenance & facility cleanliness.
  • Ensure safety, hygiene and clean appearance of the facility for Employees and Customers in the manufacturing area and other areas as assigned.
  • Work on a variety of projects including cleaning and maintaining equipment as well as cleaning floors and work areas to maintain the industry leading clean work environment we strive to achieve.
  • Responsible for maintaining safe outdoor walkways and entrances including shoveling & salting during the winter.
  • Clean the shop floor using a ride-on cleaner as well as other cleaning equipment as needed.
  • Basic maintenance and repair of the facility.
  • Ensuring cleaning and preventative maintenance (PM) schedule is adhered to for all designated equipment.
  • Assist with various shop projects, including 5S projects.
  • Ensure PPE is available at entrance shop points.
  • Assist with keeping kitchen supplies such as coffee, cream and sugar stocked.
  • Assist with cleaning in kitchen areas to help Custodians if required.
  • Mechanical aptitude to help understand how to operate machinery and complete minor repairs.
  • Accurate and timely completion of all daily paperwork.
  • General housekeeping duties and tasks as they arise.
  • Assist with skidding and material handling when required.
  • Always conduct oneself in a professional manner in alignment with Company values, including but not limited to language use, attire, and workmanship
  • In accordance with Company policy and relevant employment legislation, overtime and work outside of regular hours, and being on call may be required at the discretion of the Company
  • All other duties as required

Requirements : REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of High School or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to be Insured.
  • Forklift truck and material handling experience.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Self-starter with excellent time management skills.
  • Problem solving.
  • Safety first mindset.
  • You have a “get it done attitude” and are skilled at removing barriers.
  • Attention to detail to be able to perform duties to the highest standards. It is expected that the ICM will identify any issues that arise during their shift.
  • You operate with a team spirit, not with ego; you want everyone, including yourself, to do their best work; you see your success as dependent on the success of the team.
  • You can adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions, cope effectively with complexity and change, quickly understand and absorb new information responding appropriately.
  • You are a straight shooter who gets to the point and can clearly communicate in both oral and written form.
  • Facility Maintenance level 1 or 2 an asset.
