Overlooking Harrison Lake, the Harrison Hot Springs Resort offers the following amenities: five mineral hot springs pools, the Healing Springs Spa, three restaurants and a coffee bar, extensive banquet and catering options, Resort Golf Course and Resort Marina.

SUMMARY : The Front Desk Agents provide all guests with their first impressions of the resort. The Front Desk Agents assist guests with the checking in process as well as the checking out process. They welcome all guests and provide excellent service in meeting all guest requests and concerns.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Welcomes guests to the hotel in a sincere, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Provides information on room rates and special packages to arriving guests and handles check-ins.
  • Review and processes room and rate changes each day.
  • Up sells rooms and packages whenever possible to achieve the highest possible room rate.
  • Ensures complete information is written on the registration card and that the guest initials registration card to acknowledge room rate.
  • Ensures credit card authorizations.
  • Able to confidently use the Maestro, Front Office Property Management system.
  • Review Traces on Maestro and follow up.
  • Relieves switchboard operator for breaks throughout shift and performs all switchboard duties during that time.
  • Provides checkout service to departing guests, ensures that all accounts and payments are correct. Posts all late charges.
  • Inform housekeeping about any room moves.
  • Maintains a cash float and is responsible to ensure that it is balanced, reporting overages or shortages, obtaining change as required.
  • Completes shift update and cash-out procedures, balances cash and credit card receipts and deposits at the end of each shift.
  • Maintains familiarity with all fire, safety and emergency procedures.
  • Reports any problems or unusual circumstances to the Front Office Manager.
  • Assist in training new staff members as required.
  • Assist with PBX/Switchboard as required.
  • Check all arrivals, departures, and in-house group resumes.
  • Completes any other job-related duties that may be assigned from time to time.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED :

  • Hospitality courses from a recognized institution
  • Minimum 1-year front desk experience in a busy 3-star hotel/resort environment
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Proven ability to communicate fluently in English (verbal and written)
  • Strong cash handling skills
  • Outstanding organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to solve a variety of problems quickly and efficiently
  • Work well under pressure
  • Proven ability to give accurate instructions and information to guests and other associates
  • Ability to interpret rules, policies, procedures and documents accurately
  • Computer literacy is an asset, specifically working with databases, Microsoft Office, Property Management Systems - Maestro
  • Excellent communication skills with guests, associates, sand other departments
  • Up-selling of rooms and packages
  • Being multi lingual is an asset
  • Flexible to a changing schedule
