Location : 21463 Clarke Rd. Arva, ON (must be flexible to work at other locations)

Position : Full time, permanent

Hours of Work : Tuesday to Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM and Saturday 7:45AM-12:15PM

  • Job Summary

As a Greeter, your key responsibilities are to ensure clients are welcomed at our facility and are given directions as to where they are to unload their materials after being weighed on the scale. The Greeter works closely with the Scale Operator to judge loads and make sure the clients are directed to the appropriate area in the yard to dispose of their materials. The Greeter will also need to ensure client safety at the tipping wall. After the clients dispose of their materials, they are then weighed out. Clients are charged for the difference in weight depending on what materials are being dropped off. Assisting clients with their loads as required.

When working on the scale as the Scale Operator, your key responsibilities will include collecting payment and ensuring that the client’s information is accurate and correct, greeting each client in a courteous manner, and directing clients to the Greeters etc. Strong computer skills are considered a must! The Scale Operator is also responsible for opening and closing duties, locking, and securing all buildings and gates, and ensuring client safety.

Qualifications, Skills & Responsibilities

  • Must enjoy working outdoors, in all weather conditions
  • A minimum of two years of proven customer service experience
  • Solid understanding of client service practices and techniques.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated a high level of professionalism, personal integrity, and strong work ethic
  • Deliver an excellent and professional client experience from start to finish
  • Ability to work in a busy, fast paced environment
  • Must be able to work independently with little supervision

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the Greeter is regularly exposed to moving vehicles, both small and large, odors and airborne particles. They will be exposed to varying weather conditions.

The noise level in the environment is medium too high. Must enjoy working outdoors rain or shine, hot or cold.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand for long periods of time
  • Manually perform daily tasks (pick up materials, sweep etc.)
  • Occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Unload trailers from time to time.
  • Regularly required to lift up to 51 pounds
