Work hours :8 hour shifts Monday to Friday (with one Saturday a month) commencing between 8:00 am and 11:00 am.

Job Summary : Komoka Optometry is looking for a friendly and motivated Optical Dispenser to cover a 12 month maternity leave, with the possibility of extending employment after the end of the contract. The Optical Dispenser will build relationships with our patients and clients by helping to select eyewear based on patient needs.

Responsibilities :

• Assist patients with selecting appropriate eyewear suitable for their vision needs, take measurments for dispensing eyewear
• Perform adjustments/repairs for patient's glasses
• Maintain appearance throughout the Eyewear Boutique through visual merchanding, organization and housekeeping
• Manage frame inventory in the Eyewear Boutique by maintaining stock, pricing product SKUs and all process returns/exchanges
• Maintain product inventory for items such as retail bags, lens cleaner, lens cases
• Support company initiatives and change management as necessary.
• Undertake assignments outside of the normal scope of this role as assigned by Office Manager to meet the expected outcome.
• Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to meet company production, quality, and service deadlines.
• Support maintenance of a healthy and safe work environment by keeping the office work areas clean and free of hazards. Comply with all Health & Safety requirements as outlined in Komoka Optometry's Employee Handbook and Health & Safety policies.

Required Skills :

• Excellent communication skills in English
• written and verbal.
• Optical lens experience is a requirement
• Lab edging experience is an asset
• Experience with adjusting and repairing frames
• Ability to effectively use in-house software. Training will be provided.
• Must be able to work with mínimal supervision, while being proficient and working in a team-based environment.
• Possess a positive work ethic with maturity, integrity, reliability, and accountability.
• Conducive to change. Willing to be flexible in job duties.
• Possess superior active listening skills.
• Previous experience in an office setting and fast-pasted environment.
• Strong attention to detail, organized, and consistently meeting deadlines.

Qualifications :

• 2-3 years in fast-paced customer service environment or other equivalent experience.
• Previous Optical industry experience (an asset)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Data entry experience
