Job Summary: The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the strategic management of the company’s supply chain and logistics operations, including procurement and purchasing. This role involves overseeing end-to-end supply chain activities, including planning, procurement, and transportation, to ensure seamless and efficient operations. The Supply Chain Manager will work closely with various departments to align supply chain strategies with business goals and objectives. Key Responsibilities: Strategy Development: Create and implement the company’s supply chain strategy to enhance productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Logistics Monitoring: Oversee logistics operations to ensure smooth and timely delivery of products and services. Procurement and Purchasing: Oversee procurement and purchasing activities, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and order placement. Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory and records, ensuring optimal stock levels. Supplier and Vendor Management: Communicate and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous deals and maintain strong relationships. Warehouse Management: Ensure the warehouse is organized and operates efficiently. Data Analysis: Analyze data from shipping, procurement, and delivery processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement. KPI Management: Evaluate and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and measure supply chain performance. Employee Training: Train, mentor, and guide employees on supply chain processes and best practices. Cost Optimization: Identify and implement cost-effective solutions for supply chain and purchasing processes. Issue Resolution: Resolve any issues that arise, such as delivery delays, accidents, and supply disruptions. Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to create coordinated plans for business growth and development. Support Master Scheduling decisions to drive efficiencies and optimization of assets to drive down inventories and balance processing costs. Safety and Compliance: Develop and enforce safety guidelines and ensure all supply chain processes meet legal requirements and standards. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, or a related role, with a focus on procurement and purchasing. Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent leadership and team management abilities. Effective communication and negotiation skills. Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools. In-depth knowledge of supply chain processes, safety guidelines, and legal requirements (Canada and US). Key Performance Indicators: (KPIs) On-time delivery rate (DIFOT). Inventory accuracy and sufficient stock. Order accuracy rate. Supply chain cost as a percentage of sales. Supplier lead time and reliability. Production delays due to supply chain issues. Work Environment: Office Setting: Primarily office-based with occasional visits to warehouses, production facilities, and supplier sites. Travel: Some travel may be required for supplier visits, trade shows, outside warehouses and 3 PLs. Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer. Occasional lifting and moving of products or materials up to 35 pounds. Frequent walking, standing, and handling of materials in warehouse and production environments. Personal Attributes: Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. High ethical standards and integrity in handling confidential information.
