Foremost Industries has an immediate opening for a full-time Lead Hand for Small Fab Shop based out of our north facility in Lloydminster, Alberta.
Responsibilities :
- Ensure that OH&S regulations and the corporate safety manual are being met
- Work with Safety to ensure that safe work practices are followed
- Work with Quality Control to ensure quality requirements are being followed
- Run weekly safety meetings
- Organize & plan daily activities in the shop according to priorities and current shop workload
- Identify and report maintenance items to their Supervisor
- Look for ways to improve efficiency, heighten quality and improve safety as part of the operation team
- read & interpret blueprints to ensure parts are correctly made to specification
- Train, identify and develop employees on all material processing equipment.
- Other duties as required
Qualifications :
- Proven leadership experience such as supervisor, lead hand, or equivalent
- Strong understanding of various metal working equipment with a desire to optimize and improve
- Must have goals for continuous improvement
- Self-motivated, fast learner and ability to work independently
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Safety Training an asset but will train as required
