GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Control, coordinate and develop the internal supply chain
  • Co-ordinate production instruction kanbans
  • Co-ordinate WIP locations
  • Provide continuous improvement actions related to supply chain processes
  • Control and coordinate all internal transfer and receiving data entry
  • Production scheduling
  • Operation of daily, weekly and monthly MRPII/ERP processes
  • Inventory control analysis for all WIP, cycle counts, variance analysis and problem resolution; preparation and keying of related inventory transactions
  • Physical Inventory - preparation, counting/auditing counts, variance analysis
  • Actively participate in procedure development and in implementing new processes, methods and software programs; perform system test work as needed to accomplish this
  • Back up for other Material Analyst as required
  • Other duties as assigned by the Materials Manager
  • Travel between plants for inventory counts, meetings, etc

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Grade 12 diploma or GED required :

  • Valid drivers license and the ability to travel between the plants required :

  • Completion of Post-Secondary School focusing on Materials Management would be an asset

  • APICS Certificate or CPIM designation would be an asset

  • Experience in project management an asset

  • 1 year experience in inventory/production control, purchasing or scheduling, preferably in the automotive sector an asset

  • Proficient in the use of Core MRP and inventory control functions within TRANS4M an asset

  • Understanding and experience with Blackhawk Scan to Location an asset

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES :

  • Ability to deliver accurate, quick and concise communications through written and verbal interactions, both internally and externally
  • Strong understanding of materials management fundamentals
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft based computer programs (Excel)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Self-motivated, ability to initiate and follow tasks through to completion

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

  • Must be able to work flexible hours and be willing to work overtime, as required
  • Ability to move around an office environment and on the production floor
  • Ability to work at a computer workstation; Ability to bend, twist, lift, reach
  • Required to carry out job duties and responsibilities in a work environment that may include, but is not limited to, varying levels of noise and/or temperature.
  • Ability to lift max. 50lbs periodically.

This position will require a certain amount of training both in-house and off-site. The person who accepts the position will be expected to follow a learning curve with continuous development.
