JOB DESCRIPTION Veterinary Patient Care Coordinator, Technician AssistantLocation: Ottawa, ONAlta Vista Animal Hospital is currently welcoming a part time Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. This is an exceptional opportunity for an organized, motivated, and empathetic individual to join us in a very important support role for the entire hospital. In this role, you will help our clients and their pets feel welcomed and appreciated! As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will be responsible for maintaining the communication lines between the doctor and the client. You are the direct liaison between the Treatment/ICU veterinarians, treatment staff and the clients while their pet is in our care. Attending patient roundsProviding daily financial and medical updates on all hospitalized patientsUpdating invoicing daily based on Smart Flow treatment sheetsHandling client updates or questions via email or phonePreparing medications Medical records maintenancePreparing and presenting discharge instructions, medications and client educationCoordinating referrals or transfers with other hospitalsFollowing up on discharged patientsDiscussing financing, requesting deposits, updating estimate plans and taking paymentsrelaying lab results This is a vital role within the clinic and candidates must be detail oriented, communicate well with clients, be friendly, compassionate, professional, and work cooperatively with others. This position requires a very organized and dependable individual, who can manage multiple tasks at the same time with a great deal of positive energy. Superior communication skills and excellent client service skills are paramount while managing associated tasks in an extremely fast-paced environment. Schedule: This position does involve evenings, weekends and statutory holidays. We are currently looking for a part time position but would consider full time for the right candidate.
