The successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of projects with responsibilities as follows:Active participation in maintaining Matrix’s strong safety culturePlan, lead, coordinate, and oversee the implementation of a wide range of projects including Phase One and Two ESAs in accordance with CSA and 153/104 Standards and application of excess soil regulation 406/19.Manage various projects for a diverse group of clients, including: work plan development, resource allocation, budget/cost control, schedule tracking, report preparation, technical direction and review, and proactive client managementAssist senior technical staff to ensure high quality products that meet our clients’ unique project needsProvide technical advisory, oversight, and review on contaminated sites projects, ensuring defensible analysis on behalf of Matrix clientsComplete moderate to complex reportsCreate and maintain excellent relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, and project team membersMentor junior team membersWhat We Are Looking ForAn undergraduate or graduate degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Engineering, or a related fieldProfessional registration in Ontario or is requiredA minimum of 8 years’ experience in a similar role preferably within a consulting environmentQualified Person (QP; other than risk assessment) as per Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP), Ontario Regulation 153/04, as amendedExtensive working knowledge of relevant MECP regulations, specifically: 153/04, as amended (Records of Site Condition); 406/19 (On-Site and Excess Soil Management)Previous working knowledge with the Canada Energy Regulator is considered an assetPrevious risk assessment experience including application of tools such as MGRA is considered an assetService-oriented with an entrepreneurial driveExperience writing technical reports and giving presentations to multi-stakeholder groupsStrong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), and a collaborative attitudeA valid class G driver’s license with no restrictions and a clean driving recordWhy Choose MatrixAt Matrix you will be part of an amazing community of collaborative people who live our and bring industry-leading technical expertise to their work every day. This is a permanent position with a salary range of $102,000-$155,000, starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location.
