Coordinates and implements IPAC best practices as per the IPAC manual -Reviews surveillance data and infection trends. Use of PCC surveillance IPAC Module/paper surveillance tools and review the clinical dashboard. -Report on IPAC concerns at daily risk meeting. -Consults with NP/Physicians laboratory results’ and trending of data. - Review existing policies & procedures and make recommendations for update to the SSO IPAC Officer as required: o On IPAC practices o Outbreak Management - Track Official Ministry of Health, Ministry of Long Term Care, and Public Health Ontario directives on a daily basis, and update signage / guides / policies as needed. Assist in the communication of relevant IPAC policy and procedure changes to leaders, team members (in person and in writing). - In collaboration with Environmental Services Lead, support and provide guidance on IPAC practices in Housekeeping and Laundry Dept -In collaboration with the Dietary Dept Manager support and provide guidance on IPAC practices - Conduct weekly audits of hand hygiene, PPE, Screening and surveillance / line list. -Inspect vaccine fridge to ensure temperatures are maintained within range. Submission of results to Public Health upon request. -During outbreaks, communicate daily with Public Health on line list information for residents/TM’s: - Line list is faxed to Public Health daily before noon - Ensure line list are kept up to date including swabbing results captured on line list and the IPAC Module - Ensure TM’s working in the RHA are aware of the current residents on the line list and IPAC measures in place - Signage is in place: at the front of the building, in the resident home areas on residents door - Collaborate with Public Health on IPAC practices, audits, resident cohorting as required - Coordinate with IPAC Champions on required audits/education sessions to be completed as required. -Ensure sharp containers in place and sharps prevention program adherence to the prevention of needle stick injuries. -Conduct hand hygiene audits with the use of the Speedy Audit Platform. - COVID-19 specific surveillance activity: - Work with Environmental Services to ensure screening station for visitors and team members at front entrance, including following supplies are readily available at all times: gloves, hand sanitizer, thermometer, masks, pens, disinfectant wipes, sign-in sheets, garbage bin for used PPE and laundry bin for used gowns - In collaboration with DOC and ADOCs, ensure screening processes in place for resident/TM/students/visitors/contractors twice daily.
