Athabasca University's AVP Student Services Divisionis currently recruiting for the position ofRegistrar.

Please note this is a permanent full-time (1.0 FTE) position.

Position : Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Student Services, the Registrar provides visionary and operational leadership to the Office of the Registrar, ensuring excellence in the delivery of registrarial services to all stakeholders. They are a strategic leader focused on supporting exceptional experiences at the University through creative and sustainable approaches to process and systems design and management. The Registrar plays an important role in guiding academic program development and redesign, transfer credit, and articulation pathways.

Qualifications :

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of progressive managerial and leadership experience in a post-secondary environment is required.
  • Demonstrated and significant experience in the management and use of information systems to support effective business process.
  • Formal training and experience in leadership and change management.
  • Develop and deliver the decommissioning of legacy systems to remove technical debt from AU digital estate.
  • This includes data extracting and archiving where required e.g., multiple CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Experience in organizational planning and resource allocation.
  • A commitment to high quality of service.
  • Experience with management of highly computerized systems.
  • Knowledge and understanding of institutional goals, objectives, structure, and operations.
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation, standards, policies, and procedures affecting the university.
  • Knowledge of financial planning and report preparation.
  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively work with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully direct, coordinate, and strategically integrate multiple projects at an institutional level.
  • Ability to gather data, investigate and analyze information while being able to draw conclusions and issue recommendations.
  • Ability to perform complex tasks and to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team building skills.
