SUMMARY

The Sales Executive is responsible for actively seeking new business through skillful networking, cold calling and prospecting sales opportunities in both Canada and internationally. Job Duties

  • Prospect new “reseller” opportunities and “end user” business through cold calling, networking and market research;
  • Regularly update tracking system to reflect accurate sales pipeline information;
  • Research industry, market information, be knowledgeable about competitive products and pricing; geography of competition;
  • Participate in industry events, local Chamber of Commerce and business networking opportunities to develop new prospects, then follow up on potential leads in a timely manner;
  • Actively maintain communication with new customers to ensure the sales process exceeds their expectations;
  • Discuss sales proposals with General Manager and prepare sales contracts for approval;
  • Maintain regular and open communication with General Manager and production team to resolve sales/client matters as speedily as possible and keep customer up-to-date;
  • Report on sales deals closed daily;
  • Liaise with Sales Administrator as necessary and share any relevant customer-related information as it becomes available;
  • Provide accurate commission reports in a timely manner;
  • Be accessible to the client as required;
  • Complete other duties as directed by Manager.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree in Business or Marketing preferred;
  • Previous “active” sales experience in a competitive product environment;
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand the technicalities of the product lines in order to educate the customer effectively;
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship building aptitude with attentive listening ability to ensure effective interaction with customers;
  • Able to glean customer’s needs and then instill in customers and potential clients a sense of trust and confidence in themselves and the product and be able to guide them knowledgeably into making the best choice for their needs;
  • Proficient oral and written English; knowledge of another language an asset;
  • Persistent attitude and skillful prospecting skills;
  • Proficient data search and analytical skills;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (incl. Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint); ability to effectively use Internet; understand the process of search engines;
  • Familiarity with the company’s production processes and pricing methods;
  • Ability to accomplish long term projects and close deals with minimum supervision;
  • Detail-oriented.
