Financial Analyst

Job Title: Financial AnalystJob Responsibilities- Analyzes weekly labour performance against the performance management baseline (PMB) budget- Assists Control Account Managers prepare quarterly estimate at completion (EAC) forecasting- Prepares weekly, monthly, and quarterly variance reports against PMB and EAC- Develops and prepares actionable operational metrics measuring against the PMB and EAC- Provides Program Controls team support during the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting consolidation into the overall Shipyards and Seaspan PMB budgets- Assists in the development of analytical reporting to enhance Operations understanding/requirements in support of Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis process- Gathers and analyzes cost and timesheet data, prepares management summaries- Researches cost variances against monthly spend, budget, and forecasts- Adheres to established processes and offers insights for improvements for greater standardization and efficiency- Develops and reports Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)- Performs additional ad hoc analyses and other duties as assignedHard Skills3+ years experience in financial analysis including reconciliation of data, variance analysis, month-end close, journal entries, and budget forecastingAdvanced proficiency with Excel including VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and pivot tables (no macros required)Soft SkillsExcellent communication skills, both written and spoken, required to engage with senior level stakeholdersJob TypeThis is a permanent position.
