Our client in the transportation industry, specializing in shipments for construction materials, is seeking Dispatch Helper to support their Operations team. We are looking for someone who has some good industry knowledge of either transportation or construction materials who can support with the shipment coordination. If you are interested in this position, or know someone who might be a good fit, please email your resume to: melissa.cumetti@randstad.ca philippe.pilon@randstad.ca Advantages - Contract to permanent position - full-time position, Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week, flexible hours - Salary varies from 40-50k depending on experience - Once permanent: Insurance provided after 3 months' probation - Have your own closed office - Cross-training to learn all ins-and-outs of the company Responsibilities Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the Dispatcher will be responsible for receiving requests for pick-up and drop-offs for Ontario and Quebec regions, specifically for construction related materials. - Supporting with new potential clients - Allocate pick-ups and deliveries to different drivers - Daily follow-up of all open files (reservations, customer follow-up requests, etc.) - Update customer files in the system and handle customer service requests - Prompt and efficient dispatch to ensure quality service is maintained - Planning and execution of outbound and inbound deliveries - Act as the main point of contact for drivers on the route - Ensure tracking and traceability (GPS system) - Resolve and respond accordingly to calls from customers and customer service group - Occasional yard checks - Work with operations team in a respectful manner Qualifications - 1-2 years' professional experience in a related field, in dispatching for a construction or transport company - Strong computer skills - Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-faced environment - Customer service-oriented - Organized and reliable - Be a team player but also ability to work independently with minimal supervision - Ability to communicate in English and French Summary Focusing the Transport & Logistics industry, we are here to help you find the right job in this field.
