Scope : Essential Functions :

  • Dispatching
  • Working closely with operations on workforce planning and development
  • Checking for skill requirements and experience
  • Review employee records for training and development planning
  • Tracking personnel availability and maximizing utilization
  • Administration
  • Track field communication in database
  • Collect and transfer onboarding documentation
  • Distribute, collect, and process status change forms (Terminations, Layoffs, Leaves of Absence, Disciplinary Forms, Change of Personal info, Days Off, etc.)
  • Track turnover and identify concerns and assist in developing plans for solutions
  • Crew development plans
  • Manage information in employee databases
  • Recruitment Support
  • Attend career fairs as required
  • screening, selection, onboarding
  • Help with recruitment strategy development and implementation
  • Manage social media sites and posts
  • Retention Planning
  • Provide retention and turnover analytics
  • Develop internal retention programs and communications
  • Build influential relationships with field staff
  • Build opportunities for cross company utilization

This role will be required to take on additional tasks/projects as required and adapt to changing priorities.

Working conditions

Office setting, some travel required to attend recruitment functions. Significant time (80%) spent on the phone

  • high volume of calls.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience working in high volume recruitment role
  • Previous experience in dispatching
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that can have changing priorities
  • Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities
  • Resourceful and innovative
  • Confident with strong verbal and written communication
  • Strategic thinking capabilities
  • Ability to filter through information quickly
  • Knowledge of trades and heavy equipment an asset
  • Knowledge of social media platforms

Education and Experience (minimum qualifications)

  • Two (2) years of administrative experience in construction or oil and gas required
  • HR Certificate is an asset
  • Construction (or related) industry experience (office or field)
  • Previous recruitment or HR experience required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and Teams
