Job Posting DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Youth Leadership Coordinator plans and implements a leadership development program which consists of training modules, social activities and volunteer opportunities. The Coordinator designs curriculum and supports persons with disabilities in programs i.e. personal care, lifting procedures, adapting activities, etc.. Other responsibilities include: daily duties such as planning, implementing, promoting, and evaluating recreation programs and services; scheduling, supervising, motivating, and evaluating Summer Youth Leadership participants; managing risks, ensuring participant safety; inventories, distributes and collects equipment and supplies; handling administrative duties, networking with community groups and organizations; organizing special events and outings, submitting regular reports, tracking statistics; maintaining a budget and attending staff meetings. QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience At least one season/summer of experience leading youth in a recreational setting and designing program curriculumKnowledge and understanding of Healthy Child DevelopmentAt least one season/summer of demonstrated program leadership skillsSupervisory experience an assetExperience teaching or instructing youth an assetExperience teaching sport an assetPrevious experience working with persons with disabilities an asset Technical / Job Specific Knowledge and Abilities Current certification in Emergency First Aid and Level C CPR an assetSuccessful completion of all training requirements including High Five and WHMIS prior to start dateAccess to a reliable vehicle be required for some positionsScreening thought the Child Abuse Registry and Police Records Check.Pre - Requirement: Security Clearance Requirements: Applicants be required to complete an security screening check.
