Key Responsibilities :

  • Conduct comprehensive audits of financial and operational processes within the college.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as college policies.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports, including findings and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with various departments to develop and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform risk assessments and identify areas of potential exposure.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements and reports.
  • Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on audit-related matters.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA, CIA, or CISA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of auditing experience, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and other relevant accounting and auditing standards.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with audit software and financial systems (e.g., Banner, Workday) is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
