Dealership Parts Manager

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring stock levels to ensure just-in-time inventory levels for maximum turnover
  • Ordering inventory and liquidating surplus/slow-moving inventory as required
  • Working directly with the Service Department to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs
  • Maintaining a system to deliver necessary parts for all Service Technicians
  • Managing commercial and wholesale accounts
  • Managing the shipping and receiving of all orders
  • Seeking out new vendors, suppliers and manufactures and negotiating terms and pricing for greater profitability
  • Handling customer complaints in a fair, timely, and professional manner
  • Ensuring that all purchases are properly accounted for before payment is made
  • Providing technical assistance to employees and customers
  • Coordinating a prompt, efficient, and timely flow of paperwork
  • Ensuring that all returned or warranty parts are properly tagged so that the dealership recovers full credit from the factory
  • Understanding, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, provincial, and local regulations that may affect parts sales
  • Maintaining an orderly department

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Mandatory valid G driver's license and clean drivers abstract
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
  • Ability to manage parts staff; work well with other departments & coworkers
  • Ability to develop relationships with body shops, aftermarket sales, parts stores
  • Knowledge of general parts and warehouse procedures
  • Ability to operate forklifts competently and safely, other shop equipment an asset
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong health & safety and work practices
  • Ability to comprehend, think effectively and react appropriately under pressure
  • Ability to effectively engage customers and staff
  • Proficient with computer systems and programs
  • Experience with CDK an asset

Pay Details: Salary: $50,000/year plus incentives
