Description: Museum Ground Maintenance

The TMTB Ground Maintenance position plays a crucial role within the TMTB Museum. Due to the

scope and variety of tasks involved, it is expected that critical thinking skills play a key role in the daily

operations and maintenance of the grounds. This position has limited supervisory function when

given responsibility by the Director of maintenance. The ability to work with and direct volunteers is

important.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Director of Maintenance to carry out key projects for the Museum
  • Support the general operations of the Museum and special events
  • There is also the need to be able to engage with the public to provide tours depending on

volumes of visitors

  • Coordination of special project days for key maintenance
  • Ability to work on off days to facilitate projects that cannot be done while open
  • Serve as liaison between maintenance and education/Interpretation departments
  • Develop understanding of POS systems and Store functions including admissions
  • Provide support and planning to Special events team
  • Provide general maintenance to TMTB site and display development

Experience :

  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to perform equipment upkeep and service
  • Proven ability to document information
  • Ability to use machinery related to grounds keeping
  • Must be physically able to perform the manual duties as described above
  • Asset (But not mandatory) would be speaking another language, First Aid and WHIMIS training

Pay: $16.55 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
