Grind Operator

Primary Focus

Reporting to the Production Manager; the Grind Operator position is a critical role to play in the daily operations of our facility. This role is responsible for the daily completion of production processes within the work area. The types of responsibilities range from de-boxing and handling boxes of meat, set up, operation and tear down of a variety of meat processing equipment including grinders and forming equipment, inspection of finished product as well as operation of various material handling equipment. This role is responsible for ensuring quality product is made to customer specifications and requirements.

Accountabilities

• Set up, operation and tear down of a variety of processing equipment including grinders and forming equipment
• Handles and inspects boxes of meat in preparation for processing
• Handles and loads tanks of meat into grinder
• Inspects meat product for foreign objects
• Inspects finished product to ensure product is prepared to pre-determined specifications
• Moves pallets of product using various material handling equipment which could include pallet truck or forklift
• Works with team to complete production plan in its entirety each day
• Understand and adhere to all Occupational Safety and Health rules and regulations as related to plant safety
• Communicate in a courteous and positive manner to accomplish duties effectively, working as a team with all involved
• Assist plant personnel as needed, and perform other duties as requested by the leadership team

Required Skills / Experience & Abilities

• Strong communication skills in English (both verbal and written).
• Excellent Mathematical skills required
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent experience
• Ability to perform physical job duties
• Ability to operate machinery and/or industrial equipment
• Basic food safety knowledge is required
• Experience working in a production or plant environment
• Ability to prioritize tasks
• Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.

Job Types : Full-time, Permanent

Salary : $22.00 per hour
