POSITION SCOPE : Performs core recruitment functions for all levels within the organization based on pre-established hiring plans and facilitating onboarding activities of new hires.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES :

  • Maintain current knowledge of all related employment legislation, specifically human rights, AODA, and employment standards legislation
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of appropriate documentation throughout the recruitment and onboarding process
  • Coordinate and implement college recruiting initiatives
  • Work with hiring managers to develop hiring plans and interview strategies for each open position
  • Create job descriptions and job postings
  • Conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine hiring decisions as well as to monitor the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation
  • Post openings in online advertisements, with professional organizations, and in other appropriate venues
  • Improve the Company website recruiting page to assist in recruiting (where applicable)
  • Responsible for the sourcing, testing and on-boarding function of the new hourly hires and flipping temporary workers to full-time status
  • Manage the use of recruitment agencies and headhunters
  • Review applicants to evaluate if they meet position requirements, conduct prescreening interviews and assist in interviewing and selecting employees on-site
  • Maintain all pertinent applicant and interview data in HRIS, in addition to maintaining pertinent recruitment metrics
  • Perform reference checks and background checks for potential employees
  • Assist in writing and forwarding rejection letters and offer packages
  • Assist with coordinating orientation, including preparation orientation packages, schedules and IT Support Tickets
  • Provide assistance and backup coverage to the Receptionist and/or Executive Assistant as required, provide Reception relief daily and as required to cover absences
  • Deliver orientation and facility tours as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Human Resources Manager or designate

JOB SPECIFICATIONS : KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE : 2-3 years’ experience required; Post-Secondary Education in Human Resources Management preferred; Knowledge of latest recruitment tools and methods required

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS/CONTACTS : regular access to confidential or sensitive information; frequent internal interactions and/or regular to frequent external interactions; purpose of internal/external contacts regularly related to complex matters; regular selling, negotiating, consulting, teaching/instructing, or advising; above average level of written and verbal communication skills required for successful job performance

PROBLEM SOLVING/JUDGMENT : position is has some autonomy in terms of level of monitoring and decisions usually do not follow prescribed guidelines; regular analysis required; regularly makes recommendations or referrals; responsible for solving moderate problems
