Job Summary : The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for overseeing the shipment and receipt of goods, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in delivery, and maintaining organized records of inventory. They collaborate with various departments to coordinate logistics and support efficient operations within the organization's supply chain.

Responsibilities :

  1. Receive incoming shipments and verify their contents against purchase orders or packing lists.

  2. Prepare outgoing shipments, including packing items securely and labeling packages accurately.

  3. Coordinate with carriers and logistics providers to schedule pickups and deliveries.

  4. Inspect and report any damages or discrepancies in shipments received.

  5. Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and update inventory management systems.

  6. Organize and maintain storage areas to facilitate efficient storage and retrieval of goods.

  7. Communicate with internal teams regarding shipment status, delivery schedules, and inventory levels.

  8. Assist in resolving shipping and receiving issues, such as delays or damaged goods.

  9. Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

  10. Participate in inventory audits and cycle counts as required.

Technical Skills :

  1. Proficiency in using shipping software and inventory management systems.

  2. Knowledge of shipping regulations and requirements, including hazardous materials handling.

  3. Familiarity with operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.

  4. Basic understanding of supply chain logistics and inventory control principles.

  5. Ability to interpret and understand shipping documents, invoices, and purchase orders.
