Operations personnel and management are continuously kept up to date on developing technologies and general improvements in our industry. Job Description Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor, the General Labourer would perform the following responsibilities: Job Location • Hamilton OntarioResponsibilities:• Ensure to follow all safety procedures and protocols, including the use of PPE • Inspect material for proper rigging techniques and surface preparation for the galvanization process • Rigging and un-racking steel parts on lifting devices using hooks, chains, and wire • Handle the customer product efficiently and effectively, lifting only up to 50lbs • Inspect, clean and repair quality flaws obtained from the galvanizing process utilizing wire brushes, files, and powered grinders • Packaging customer product with shrink wrap, nylon, or steel banding • Ensure the safety and cleanliness of their workstations with great housekeeping techniques • Other duties as required Experience • High school degree or equivalent is an asset • Working in a plant environment would be beneficial • Languages: English Qualities: Reliable – Flexible – Respectful – Collaborative – Fair • Respect values and emulate these values to colleagues, suppliers, and customers• Maintain a good working environment by being flexible and cooperative Skills • Enjoys manual work • Is in good physical shape to be able to handle steel parts Work Conditions Number of hours per week: 40 • Work shifts: Day: 7:00am to 3:00pm, Evening: 3:00pm to 11:00pm and Night: 11:00pm to 7:00am • Various training courses offered (forklift operator, pallet truck operator…) Benefits - Health Insurance - Training courses for growth opportunitiesMaxSys is committed to a diverse, equal and inclusive workforce.
