Position Summary We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our Community Courier division. This role focuses on both strategic management and day-to-day operations, blending business development with tactical leadership. The General Manager will oversee external partnerships, develop and implement business strategies, and ensure efficient daily operations. This position requires strong leadership, strategic planning, operational management, and relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Management _
  • Develop and implement the overall growth strategy for Community Courier.
  • Align courier services with the broader company portfolio and ensure effective integration.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key external partners and stakeholders.
  • Operations Management _
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Lead and manage drivers and dispatchers.
  • Exhibit leadership for frontline employees and perform frontline duties as needed during high-volume periods.
  • Allocate resources efficiently to support strategic and operational goals.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound service requirements.
  • Performance and Compliance _
  • Monitor and analyze performance data and metrics to inform strategic and operational decisions.
  • Implement changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure operations comply with all regulatory requirements and maintain a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met.
  • Forecast requirements and control costs effectively.
  • Customer Satisfaction _
  • Ensure service quality meets Micco standards and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Human Resources _
  • Partner with Human Resources to source, interview, hire, and train the best possible team.
  • Monitor and manage employee performance, conduct evaluations, and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
  • You lead with a calm and mature style, navigating changing priorities with ease.
  • Your communication skills, both written and verbal, are excellent.
  • Time management and organization are your strong suits. You focus and see things through to completion.
  • You have a proven track record in business development and partnership management.
  • You excel at analyzing and interpreting performance data and metrics.
  • Financial management and budget preparation are areas where you thrive.

Requirements :

  • Minimum of five years of successful management experience in courier, direct express, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree or Community College diploma; post-secondary education in a related field is an asset.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and familiarity with ERP or CRM systems.
  • Working knowledge of diverse business functions, including finance and timekeeping.

Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
